Lighthearted is a one-day yoga and mindfulness retreat designed to bring you back to that sense of freedom — through playful movement, gentle connection, and moments of deep rest.

You’ll spend the day in community, exploring partner yoga, breathwork, meditation, and journaling in a light, joyful atmosphere. We’ll open space for laughter and curiosity, and close with the calm exhale your body’s been craving.

About the Retreat

Think of Lighthearted as a gentle adventure for your body, mind, and spirit — a space to explore movement, creativity, and connection in ways that feel fresh and uplifting.

Set in the beautiful building and grounds of Grantham House, we’ll have the perfect mix of inspiring indoor spaces and peaceful outdoor areas. Weather permitting, some activities will take place outside, inviting nature to be part of the experience.

Grantham House is also home to a charming bookshop, a cosy café, and expansive grounds to wander. You’re warmly invited to arrive early or stay after the retreat to explore at your own pace, enjoy a coffee, or lose yourself in the bookshelves.

Midway through the day, we’ll gather for a buffet-style picnic lunch — a chance to relax, chat, and share food in a warm, open circle. A delicious and nutritious lunch will be provided. 

Here’s how the day will flow (timings are approximate and may be subject to small changes):

  • 10:00 – 10:45 Icebreaker & playful warm-up

  • 10:45 – 11:00 Meditation to connect with play

  • 11:00 – 12:00 Partner yoga workshop

  • 12:00 – 1:00 Buffet-style picnic lunch (and phone time if you need it)

  • 1:00 – 2:00 Journaling & reflection

  • 2:00 – 3:00 Gentle and fun yoga, breathwork & a few playful surprise practices to end on a high!

Meet Your Hosts

 

Rachel

From a young age and into adulthood, I experienced trauma that led me on a deep journey to release pain and reconnect with my inner child. Living with universal alopecia for over 24 years, I have navigated many emotions, and yoga has become my powerful way to let go, create space, and live a fulfilled life.

Yoga helped me immensely through my struggles with alopecia, and it continues to be a source of healing and joy. I absolutely love teaching yoga and am always learning — it’s truly a win-win for me and my students.

As I like to say, “So why wouldn’t you?”

I am certified in:

I began my journey as a personal trainer, and while living in Australia, I started combining yoga and meditation into my fitness classes — what I like to call “mindful fitness.” This fusion completely transformed my life, helping me heal and release a lot of anxiety while bringing more calm and presence into every movement.

During lockdown, I deepened my practice by completing a yoga diploma online, which enriched my teaching and understanding. I have extensive experience in meditation, breathwork, yoga, mindfulness, and coaching both men and women. My own deep spiritual practices also inform and inspire the way I guide others.

Back in the UK, I built a thriving community through in-person yoga classes and retreats, nurturing meaningful connections and soulful experiences. When I started traveling to Bali, I expanded my reach by launching an online yoga business, creating courses filmed in stunning locations like Bali, Vietnam, and Mexico.

Yoga is my passion, and I truly believe we all need more yoga — and more fun — in our lives!

Parking & Transport:
Free parking is available nearby at Wyndham Park, just a short walk from Grantham House. Public transport options include Grantham train station, which is a 10-minute taxi ride away.

Who is this retreat for?
Lighthearted is for anyone—men and women—looking to cultivate inner peace, have fun, forget the day-to-day stresses, and build new connections. No prior yoga experience is needed. Whether you’re curious about yoga or simply want a joyful day to reconnect with yourself, you’re warmly welcome.

Do I need to be flexible or fit?
Not at all! Our partner yoga and gentle flows are designed for all levels and abilities. We encourage you to listen to your body and enjoy the playful spirit of the day.

What should I bring?

  • A yoga mat and any props you have (if you don’t have a mat, just let us know — we can provide one or help you purchase one)

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for yoga and light movement

  • A water bottle to stay hydrated

Is lunch included?
Yes! We’ll provide a delicious buffet-style picnic lunch and cater to any dietary requirements you share with us.

Do I need to provide any information when booking?
Yes, please provide any dietary requirements when you book, and you will also be asked to complete a simple health form to ensure the day is safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Will the venue be private?
Grantham House will still be open to the public during the retreat, but we’ll have our own private indoor room and an outdoor section reserved just for our group.

What happens if the weather is bad?
No worries! We have a comfortable and beautiful indoor room reserved so all activities can continue inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Can I arrive early or stay after?
Yes! We encourage you to arrive early or stay after the retreat to explore Grantham House’s beautiful grounds, café, and bookshop at your leisure.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens! Refunds are considered if you cancel at least 7 days before the retreat. We are flexible and honestly consider each individual situation fairly. Please get in touch as soon as possible if you need to make changes.

How do I book and pay?
After filling out the booking form (below) or contacting us via WhatsApp, we will send you an invoice with payment details. Your spot will be confirmed once payment is received.
